Day 80 – 84

IMG_20181107_194555983So we celebrated Diwali with lot of nice decorations and fun! I got my knee hockey and we played that till late in the night. I was reminded every few minutes by my mom to watch for my port so that the ball does not hit me. These days I get the weird pains randomly in my shin or the big toes. It makes it so hard to kneel down to play hockey sometimes.

After Diwali was over on Wednesday, Nov 7th, I was all excited to go for my blood work on Thursday because I knew my ANC would be up from Monday. But it did not happen. It actually went down more than Monday. My dad looked worried and called my mom. I saw them talking to the doctor on the phone. When I came home then my mom looked very sad. I told mom, “Don’t worry mom, God has a plan for me.” My mom smiled and asked me “ Okay so what is the plan?” I told her “That I do not know yet but I know there is definitely a plan” I started laughing then which made everyone laugh.

I have been feeling great actually for 2-3 days because I have not received the chemotherapy for almost 2 weeks. I have been hungry. I have a lot of energy. I even spent some time with my little cousins on Saturday. I was running around with the 1 yr old cousin. Man! That felt so good.  My mom and I have made great progress in the puzzle but it is sooo hard with such tiny pieces. I know I will finish it soon. My brother is helping me too! I have to go back on Monday for the blood test and if my count is not high then they will do bone marrow aspiration. I hope they go up so that I do not have to stay hungry for a long long time. Also it hurts in my back afterwards.  My mom said I will be just fine on Monday and things will get better soon!

Hi Arjun! I am a student from Bradley Gardens Bridgewater. I am really glad that your getting better, and I am happy for that! I just want you to know that you are a really nice, kind, strong, and inspiring. When I saw a video from you, you inspired me to keep believing and never give up! I am really amazed that you were able to don’t give up from leukemia. And I know that leukemia is a really bad disease that can kill you. And when my teacher said you battle from this hurtful disease I felt really bad for you. But just know that you are a really strong kid, and I know I said that A LOT but you truly are! If i had to battle from this disease I know that I would give up! But just remember never give up. No matter how hard you try I know you can make it. Just as long as you get better I am happy.

Hi Arjun, it’s the twins. Sorry you aren’t feeling better, but we are glad you got knee hockey. Maybe we can come over and play. The puzzle sounds really good. Did you ever find out about the t-shirt contest? We are going to ask our dad to talk to your dad about coming over. bye. Brandon & Brendon

THANKS. So what happen was I changed hospitals. That meant I could not find out about the t-shirt contest. 😦
Any ways, to look on the bright side, the puzzle is super fun and hard. But about the knee hockey set, I play very little because my port is accessed even when I’m home now.

    Hi Arjun,
I am Bonnie Allen and I am Colin Marley’s aunt. I am also a teacher at Bradley Gardens School. I have been following your story since Day 1 and I am so impressed by your positive attitude and strength! You are an amazing person! We had some third and fourth grade students at our school who wanted to contact you after hearing and seeing your Halloween surprise, and reading the article about you in the newspaper! Everyone at Bradley Gardens School wishes you a speedy recovery, and we’re looking forward to you getting back on the ice (and back to school!) I’ll be sure to get to a hockey game later this year to see you play! Stay strong and keep fighting! You can beat this!
Thinking of you with warm wishes-
